ATASHIn’CHI Returns with Short Anime “ATASHIn’CHI Next”

The ATASHIn’CHI series will return with a short anime entitled “ATASHIn’CHI Next” which will premiere in June 2024!

This announcement was made by SC Digital on Wednesday that the newest anime for the ATASHIn’CHI franchise will start streaming its first episode on June 5 at 18:30 (05:30 EDT) with the title ATASHIn’CHI NEXT.

ATASHIn’CHI Next was created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the original manga by Eiko Kera.

This anime will feature five stories from the manga that have never been adapted into an anime series before.

ATASHIn’CHI Next broadcast schedule

As mentioned, there will be five episodes for this series, each episode will be released once every month. So here is the broadcast schedule:

  • Episode 1: June 5
  • Episode 2: July 5
  • Episode 3: August 5
  • Episode 4: September 5
  • Episode 5: October 5

ATASHIn’CHI tells a funny and relatable story about the Tachibana family’s daily life.

There is a mother who always tries hard but is sometimes careless, a father who is quiet and has unique habits, Mikan, a high school student who is a little silly, and Yuzuhiko, a middle school student who looks cold but is actually naive.

Each episode will show a different story. So, here is the episode launch schedule according to the schedule on ATASHIn’CHI Next:

  • Yuzupi Mechanical Pencil / Yuzupi’s Mechanical Pencil
  • Handmade Hambagu Mikan / Mikan, Handmade Hambagu
  • Jogging Mother / Mother, Jogging
  • Father’s Nightmare, Sleepy Drive

You can watch the latest episodes of ATASHIn’CHI Next every month on the official AtasHIn’CHI YouTube channel.

This channel also broadcasts several episodes of the original anime series and Shin ATASHIn’CHI (2015).

Kera had previously launched a new serialization for the manga titled ATASHIn’CHI SUPER in December 2019, seven years after he originally ended the series.

When Kera ended the manga in March 2012, he had been drawing it in the Sunday edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper since 1994, for 17 years and 10 months.
