Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (2023) is Zack Snyder’s latest work which was released exclusively on Netflix. As you can see in the title, Rebel Moon is divided into two films. Each of Part One and Part Two is apparently divided into two versions, namely the PG-13 and R-rated versions.
Released on December 22, 2023 is the PG-13 version of Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire. So, the R-rated version of this film is planned for release in early 2024. Apart from the longer duration of the film, director Zack Snyder also revealed that the R-rated version will be a different film from the PG-13 version.
Things that are in the R-rated version of Rebel Moon – Part One
Apart from directing, Snyder also served as a screenwriter in Rebel Moon. Not only alone, Snyder worked on the script for this film with two colleagues, namely Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten. Well, one of the Rebel Moon scriptwriters, Kurt Johnstad, recently leaked what we will get in the R-rated version of Rebel Moon – Part One that is not in the PG-13 version.
Reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Johnstad said, “There is definitely more to the story in the opening of the R-rated version. You will get more stories about Jimmy, Kora, and Motherworld. You will also get different introductory stories about Noble and minor characters like Aris, the Motherworld soldier who defends Sam’s character.”
Kurt Johnstad also added that the R-rated version of Rebel Moon – Part One will feature a much clearer storyline and will have more action.
