The figure of Uatu the Watcher may have a relationship with the new MCU Multiverse guardian figure who replaced He Who Remains, namely God Loki. The Marvel Cinematic Universe currently has two strong characters who both have power, namely God Loki and also Uatu the Watcher. What’s interesting is that there is a possible connection between Uatu the Watcher and God Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel Multiverse.
Maybe initially you know Loki as the villain from the majority of stories in the MCU. However, now he has undergone a major change to become the guardian of the MCU Multiverse. The development of Loki’s character arc is widely recognized as the best arc development that has ever appeared in the MCU, like Tony Stark or Steve Rogers. Almost all fans and all parties admit this.
This moment occurred in Loki season 2 where in the latest season we saw Loki trying to prevent the domino effect that emerged after the death of He Who Remains. He is willing to do anything, even risk his own life, to save the TVA from destruction. Loki was willing to save Victor Timely in order to repair the unstable Temporal Loom, although Sylvie initially disagreed with Loki’s decision.
We can see the peak of this change in attitude in episode 5 yesterday, where Loki was willing to go to various timelines and ask for help from his friends, namely Mobius, Casey, X-15, Ouroboros, and Sylvie. And what’s interesting is that Loki now realizes that everything that happens is about ‘who’, namely who can control everything. Loki also decided to become that figure.
In episode 6 of the Loki season 2 series, Loki decides to sacrifice himself to save the timeline that will be destroyed by becoming the new “He Who Remains” figure. He decides to become the guardian of the new timeline and creates the opportunity to write and organize his own story. As Sylvie said, Loki gave them a chance to have a better life.
This is what later made Loki the MCU’s version of God of Stories or what Marvel Studios later called God Loki. Currently, Loki is in the Multiverse Tree where he guards all existing timeline branches and manages them all with the power he has. However, it is still unknown whether Marvel Studios will present God Loki’s story for a long time or whether something else will happen.

Uatu The Watcher The Narrator
In the MCU itself, the name Uatu the Watcher tends to be a new character. He just appeared when Marve Studios introduced the newest series, What If. In the story, Uatu, according to his nickname as The Watcher, can only monitor all the various things that exist or take place in the Marvel Multiverse. As he mentioned in the What If narrative, he had vowed not to interfere in various things that happened.
However, as shown in the current two seasons of What If, Uatu has broken his promise. Apart from being a supervisor, Uatu is also the narrator of the storyline. In the comic itself, Uatu is part of a group called The Watcher. The Watchers are cosmic entities who have unlimited knowledge of the events occurring in the Marvel Multiverse.
The main task of the Watchers is to observe and record events in the Marvel Multiverse, but they are prohibited from interfering in human affairs or the events that occur. However, on several occasions they broke their oaths for purposes that were considered very important. This happens when the situation is truly critical or dangerous.
Because of this, whether in comic stories or in the What If series, in the end Uatu rarely appears and is involved in a story. However, it is not uncommon for Marvel Comics to present a storyline that shows Uatu being involved in an event. From what appears in the What If season 2 series, there is an interesting relationship between God Loki and Uatu the Watcher.
